Asian Medicine & Acupuncture

Asian Medicine is based on the principle of yin and yang existing in balance. Harmony of yin and yang is evidence of health, whereas disharmony of yin and yang leads to disease.  The goal of Asian medicine is to restore balance between yin and yang, and this is done through the use of dietary recommendations, Eastern herbs and acupuncture.

Acupuncture is based on the principle that Qi flows through all of body’s meridians.  Acupuncture points are located in specific points along these meridians all over the body, and correspond to different organ systems.  The use of tiny acupuncture needles in combinations of specific acupuncture points adjust the circulation of Qi along the meridians, leading to the restoration of balance.

Acupuncture can be beneficial for many conditions, including (but not limited to!) musculoskeletal problems, low back pain, constipation, menstrual cramps, menstrual disorders and infertility.
